Gaining Confidence in Reporting Child Abuse and Maltreatment
Reporting child abuse can feel intimidating, but it doesn't have to be. This one hour in-person training will give attendees a better understanding of their duties, including how to report, when to report, and what information is needed to make a report. This training benefits anyone over 18 years old who is concerned with keeping children safe.
All About Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE’s)
This one-hour in-person presentation is about Understanding Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and is designed for adults. We will go over what ACEs are, including types of abuse, neglect, and household dysfunction, and their impact: how they affect long-term health, brain development, and behavior. Along with how to respond, we will discuss Strategies for resilience, prevention, and trauma-informed care using real-world applications, success stories, and helpful resources.
Grooming and manipulation
This presentation is a 1-hour training session on grooming, designed to help adults recognize and respond to grooming behavior, which is a manipulative tactic used to exploit children or vulnerable adults, often for sexual abuse. Participants will learn what the grooming process seeks to accomplish, where it happens, what to watch for, and how to respond. As well as how to talk to children and teens about online safety, teach kids about grooming risks, and keep communication open amongst caregivers.
online sexual exploitation
In this digital age, children face risks of online sexual exploitation. This one-hour, in-person training equips adults with the knowledge and tools to recognize, prevent, and respond to these threats. Attendees will understand the risks, recognize the signs, prevent and protect, know the laws, and learn to take action.
Human Trafficking 101
This one hour in-person training will give attendees a better understanding of the different types of human trafficking, what makes youth susceptible to potential trafficking lures, signs to look for, and how to make a report. This training benefits anyone over 18 years old who is concerned with keeping children safe.
Darkness to Light Additional Training Modules
Additional training is designed to provide more in-depth information on topics in Stewards of Children, other forms of abuse, and mandated reporting. These are not intended to be used as a replacement for Stewards of Children®. They do not provide the foundation necessary to address child sexual abuse adequately and should be viewed as companion education.
